저회는 금요일에 두 번째 토론 했어요. 총 4개의 질문에 대해서 얘기를 나누었어요.

1. 지난 주말에 울산과 경주에 갔는데, 어땠어요?
   1. 서울 말고 다른 지역에 가는 게 좋았고 경치도 예뻐서 경주에서 재밌는 시간을 보냈어요. 학생들이 특히 안압지 버스킹 하고 호텔에서 노래방하는 걸 좋아했어요. 음식도 대부분 학생들의 입맛이 맞았어요. 우리 먹은 것 중에 제일 인상적이던 거는 천선대 커피였어요. 물론 경치과 음식이 좋았는데 이 여행하면서 학생들이 많이 친해진 것 같아서 더 좋았어요. 어떤 학생들이 일찍 일어나고 해돋이 봤고, 버스 타면서 얘기도 하고 게임도 했어요. 1박2일을 다 같이 보내서 그랬던 것 같아요.
   2. 그래도, 좀 불편했던 점이 있었어요. 버스에 너무 오래 동안 앉아 있기만 있어서 별로 편하지 않았대요. 반대로, 몇 학생들이 너무 많이 걸어서 힘이 빨리 빠졌다고 했어요. 게다가, 날씨 많이 더워서 더위를 먹은 학생들도 있었어요. 그리고 울산에 SK 투어 할 때 사진을 못 찍어서 아쉽다고 말한 학생들 있었어요.
2. 사회봉사 본격 시작에 대해 어떤 소감 있습니까?
   1. 학생들이 사회봉사 즐기고 있어요. 아이들 아주 귀엽고 같이 하는 활동들도 재미있다고 해요. 아이들 저희의 이름을 너무 잘 알아서 깜짝 놀랐어요. 직접 만든 귀여운 이름표끼지 줘서 기분이 좋았어요. 그런데 이번 주 노래 배우는 시간에 한 팀의 아이들이 협력을 잘 안 해서 좁 답답하고 힘들었대요. 그래도 아이들이랑 점점 친해지고 있는 것 같아서 좋았어요.
3. 아직까지 한국 생활 하면서 불편한 점 있습니까?
   1. 3 주 동안 한국 생활 하다가 더 익숙해졌는데 아직도 불편한 면이 있어요. 스트레스 샇이기 시작했고 이번 주 몇 명이 아팠어요. 날씨도 더워지고 있고 교실 가는 길이 여전히 힘들어서 피곤한 학생들이 많아요. 그리고 어떤 학생들이 아무리 한국어 써도 한국사람들이 그 학생들한테 영어만 써서 좀 답답하다고 합니다.
4. 남은 3주 동안 어떤 걸 제일 기대됍니까?
   1. 학생들이 3주 안에 하고 싶은 걸 정말 다양합니다. 어떤 학생들이 쇼핑도 하고 싶고 매니큐어도 받아보고 싶고 로태월드도 가고 싶고, 등등. 많은 학생들이 다은 주 남산에 가는 걸 정말 기대하고 있어요.

 

 

On Friday, we held the second of our class discussions. We discussed the following four topics together:

1. How was last weekend’s trip to Gyeongju and Ulsan?
2. What are your thoughts on volunteering now that we’ve officially started?
3. What are some of the inconveniences you might have encountered as of late?
4. What are you most looking forward to in the next three weeks?

 

1. We generally enjoyed the trip, as it offered a look at a new place outside of Seoul. Gyeongju’s scenery was very pretty, and we got to see some famous landmarks. Out of everything that we did, the students seemed to particularly like the impromptu busking that we did at Anapji Pond, and also when we went to noraebang at the hotel after sightseeing. The food was alright, and the Cheonseondae coffee was especially memorable. However, there were some aspects that were not as great, namely the long time spent on the bus and the heat coupled with the amount of walking we did. Still, we were able to bond through this two-day, one-night trip and the consensus is that it was a nice experience.
2. The students like volunteering so far. The kids are very cute, and the students are enjoying getting to know everyone and doing the various activities we planned. The kids memorized our names so quickly, it surprised us. They even surprised us with handmade nametags that had cute little puns on them. However, this week when we were teaching them songs, some of the kids weren’t really participating, so some people were a bit frustrated. Even so, we’re able to become closer with the kids every visit.
3. Over these past three weeks, the students have gotten relatively accustomed to life in Korea. However, there are still some aspects that are a bit inconvenient and difficult. Keeping up with school work is getting increasingly stressful and people are starting to get sick. The weather is also hot and the hill that we have to walk up to get to class is still a struggle every day. Additionally, some students are a bit frustrated that Koreans speak in English to them when they try to speak Korean
4. The things the students want to do in the next three weeks are very diverse. Some students want to go shopping, some students want to get manicures, some students want to go to Lotte World, etc. A lot of students are also really looking forward to our upcoming trip to Namsan.
